Mezzegra is a historic village located in Tremezzina, on Lake Como.
Here, in 1945 on April 28th, an important chapter of Italian history was put to an end, when Benito Mussolini and Claretta Petacci were executed near Villa Belmonte at Giulino.
The historical core is the XVI cent. borough of Bonzanigo; its sumptuous and frescoed palaces (Brentano, Rosati, Abbate, Bishop’s palace) bear the traces of the success of families emigrated to Germany.
Other monument is St. Abundius parish church commanding a view over the lake.
