Villa Melzi D’Eril Gardens
Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Duke of Lodi and vice president of the First Italian Republic, the early nineteenth century decided to build a summer residence in Bellagio. Particularly fascinating are the park, decorated with traditional and exotic woods from the trees, typical of that period’s taste , a series of sculptures distributed through the park, the Japanese pond with water lilies and aquatic plants such as maples and Japanese cedars all around. Also, azaleas and rhododendrons in April and May, give life to colorful meadows and slopes.
