Introduction
Insalata caprese is an appetiser that originated in the cuisine of Campania, composed of quality ingredients that when put together create a true must of Italian cuisine: tomato, mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil, oregano and fresh basil.
Just think that this recipe was born in Capri in 1920 on the occasion of a dinner organised for the poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, founder of the Futurist manifesto.

Ingredients
4 - 5 tomatoes (salad oxheart quality)
200 g fresh, high-quality buffalo or fior di latte mozzarella
fresh basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
high quality extra virgin olive oil
salt
pepper (optional)
Preparation
Wash, dry the tomatoes and cut them with a fine-bladed knife.
Place the tomatoes on a wooden cutting board and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
We now slice the mozzarella.
We assemble the dish with the slices of tomato and mozzarella obtained, adding a few leaves of fresh basil.
Finally we sprinkle with a pinch of dried oregano, pepper and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
