In Italy, prosciutto and melon is a timeless summer classic. Sweet, juicy cantaloupe meets the savory, delicate flavor of cured ham in a pairing that’s as simple as it is irresistible. It’s the kind of dish that feels elegant yet effortless — and you only need two ingredients to make it.

Ideal for outdoor dinners, light lunches, or a refreshing antipasto on a hot day, this combination has been loved for generations, and it never goes out of style.


Prosciutto and Melon Recipe

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Difficulty: Very easy

Serves: 6

Best Season: Summer

Ingredients:

1 ripe cantaloupe

250 g high-quality prosciutto crudo (Parma ham or San Daniele)

Instructions:

1. Cut the melon in half and remove all the seeds.

2. Rinse each half under cold water and pat dry.

3. Slice the melon into wedges — not too big, not too small.

4. Wrap each slice with a piece of prosciutto.

5. Arrange on a platter and chill slightly before serving, if needed.
